The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and Delaware Canal 21 have partnered to conduct an new vision study for the historic canal.
A meeting, which will feature a public engagement process that seeks creative ideas from the regional community about how the unique state park will be sustained and improved in the 21st century, will be held Thursday at Morrisville Junior/Senior High School at 399 Cox Avenue.

An open house will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., where the public can share memories and experiences of the park, learn about the Delaware Canal’s history and speak with team members. A presentation and discussion will follow from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., where the public will hear a brief presentation and have time to join in group discussions. Refreshments will be provided.
One meeting in Riegelsville was held Tuesday and another will be held Wednesday at the the Eagle Firehouse at 46 North Sugan Road in New Hope.
The canal that once featured mule-drawn barges moving supplies runs 60 miles from Bristol Borough through Tullytown and Falls Township before ending in Easton, Northampton County.
