A man told police Dale Jones, 26, “attacked” him with a pickax after a verbal altercation with his girlfriend’s mother, according to court papers.
The man told officers Jones swung the pickax at him as he tried to get into his Ford-250 pickup truck to leave. During his attempt to quickly flee, the man reversed his truck and got stuck on a median, which Jones then used as an opportunity to strike the vehicle with the pickax, police said.
One final strike from Jones’ pickax, according to the man’s story to police, came as he freed his truck and peeled away from scene.
