“We are pleased to have received the Digital Community College award as it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide a technology environment where students learn with the tools and techniques that will serve them well now and into the future,” Bucks County Community College Vice President and Chief Information Officer Andrew Lawlor said.

From the college:

The CDE said this year’s survey identified 46 of the most forward-thinking and technology-driven community colleges in the nation. Applicants from three enrollment-size categories submitted responses to a 30-question survey. Winning applicants were recognized for their technology leadership in mobile computing, job placement programs, social media, data management and strategic planning.

Overall findings of the CDE’s national survey include:

  • 58% of community colleges surveyed support student job placement through online resume-building tools

  • 43% have strategies in place for the use of mobile devices

  • 81% o use cloud computing services resulting in cost savings

A representative from the Center for Digital Education shows community colleges are  great strides in using data to improve decisions, providing professional development to assist faculty in the use of technology, and creating robust online and mobile environments for their students.”
