The southbound left turn lane on Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township was closed at the Route 1 interchange Tuesday due to damage from the truck that struck the overpass Monday afternoon.
PennDOT officials announced the closure Tuesday and said a plan to repair the damaged bridge is underway.

Motorists traveling south on Oxford Valley Road are able to make left turns to reach the ramp for Route 1 1 north, but from a shortened, 150-foot-long turn lane just off the bridge.
The underside of the Oxford Valley Road bridge over U.S. 1 was hit by a flatbed truck carrying a fork lift on Monday afternoon, June 29. The impact resulted in damage to four steel I-beams. PennDOT engineers have inspected the bridge and are developing a repair plan.
The three span, steel-I beam bridge was built in 1972. It is 167 feet long and 90 feet wide. The bridge is not structurally deficient or posted with a weight limit. The structure carries 16,000 vehicles a day.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
