At 3:55 p.m., about 45 minutes after she went into the house, she heard a noise in a bedroom as she was doing chores and found an unknown man in the house, police said.

The man struck the woman in the face and then fled out a rear door, police said.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s house. The neighbor checked the woman’s house for the man before calling police, according to a press release.

The suspect was not located after a search of the area, an investigator said.

The woman suffered a small laceration on her face and had a swollen lip, police said.

The suspect was described by authorities as a tall white male with dark curly hair. He was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and a white undershirt.

It was unclear to police if anything was taken from the house.

The incident comes in the midst of a burglary spree in Falls Township. Police did not say whether the spree and Thursday’s incident are related.
