Longtime Bristol Township staple Beach’s Hardware at the corner of Ford Road and Veterans Highway just celebrated their 65th anniversary.
The business, which has been perpetually “in the family” for nearly seven decades, received a special commendation on behalf of Bristol Township last week in honor of this special milestone.

Council President Craig Bowen, who read the commendation to the family and local residents on Thursday, said he remembers visiting the hardware store even as a young boy. Bowen took the time to list other hardware stores who had once competed for local business and have since closed their doors. “All of those are gone and you guys are still here,” he said. Bowen remarked the Beach’s success is a result of “being good business people and being good people helping the community.”
Bowen remarked that big box hardware stores lack in the knowledge and personal service that comes with visiting a store like Beachs’.
“It’s just a great place,” Bowen said.

The business began when William and Florence Beach moved to nearby Fergusonville in Bristol Township in 1940. Their son, Bill, and then their grandson, Rob, has since taken over managing the business. The family was present Thursday to accept the commendation.
