UPDATED: Families Displaced Following Bristol Fire

Bristol Borough Fire Chief Herb Slack said the fire happened at the The Jefferson Condos at 394 Jeferson Avenue at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday.

The blaze originated in the kitchen of a first floor apartment. It caused “significant damage to the kitchen with smoke and heat damage throughout the apartment,” Slack said.

He added that 11 units in the building suffered some smoke damage.

No injuries were reported.

Bristol Fire Company Bristol Consolidated Fire Company, Goodwill Hose Company No. 3, America Hose Hook and Ladder #2 and Third District Volunteer Fire Company responded to the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping  four families after a Tuesday evening fire in Bristol Borough.

A firefighter, who was not authorized to give his name to the media, said the blaze displaced several residents of an apartment building in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue, near the corner of Pond Street. He confirmed to that no one was hurt in the incident.

Further information from Bristol’s fire chief was not available as of Wednesday evening.
