Support for the arts in Bristol Borough continued on Saturday night with the Salon du Soleil Art Celebration at the Grundy Commons.
The event, put together by Gina Andreoli and Jina Dierolf, featured a host of artists placing their work on display on the eve of the summer solstice. Painters, photographers, film makers, musicians, a fire dancer and others were present showing their works off. In addition to the art, there was a food truck and a whiskey tasting on the premise.

“I’m pleasantly surprised we have this many people,” Andreoli explained as the crowd mixed around her.
According to Andreoli, artists from Philadelphia, New York, and more were present along with their works. “It’s great to see a mix of art,” Andreoli said.

“We would have been happy if 15 people showed up. We’re very pleased [wieth the turnout],” Dierolf said.

The turnout, even early in the evening, surpassed the expectations that Andreoli and Dierolf had. “It’s a good introduction if you don’t know what you’re looking for,” Dierolf said. The wide range of art forms has something for everyone who is vaguely interested in art to appreciate.
“Everyone is smiling, they’re having a good time,” Dierolf concluded.

This eventย will hopefully be the first of others in year to come, Andreoli said.
The event happened at the end of a busy week for Bristol. Theย Centre for the Arts in the oldย Ballowโs Shoes space on Mill Street opened Thursday and the Delaware Canal Festival was held Friday evening.
