A Levittown woman had to be taken to Philadelphia for treatment by helicopter following a single-vehicle crash in Falls Township.

The crash happened late Monday morning at the intersection of Penn Valley and Falls-Tullytown roads. The vehicle the woman was driving went off the road, through under brush and down an embankment, police said.
Rescuers took the woman from the overturned car and rushed her to Manor Elementary School, where a Temple University Hospital medical helicopter was waiting.
The woman’s condition was unclear as of 3 p.m.

Police at the scene said the cause of the crash remained under investigation.

A Temple University Hospital helicopter was called to Falls Township Monday morning after a serious crash.
The crash reportedly happened in the area of Penn Valley and Falls-Tullytown roads around 11:15 a.m. Firefighters, police and medics rushed to the scene and tended to at least one seriously injured person.
The helicopter landed a Manor Elementary School a short time later.
