Personal space was at a premium during the beginning of Tuesday evening’s packed Bristol Township School Board Meeting.
Parents and players associated with the Bristol Township Girls Softball League filled the meeting room and came before the board. The group asked the school directors to save their fields at the John Fitch Elementary School property. The league is worried that they will lose the fields once the school closes in June 2016.

Vice president of the league, Linda Black appealed to the board to turn the fields over to the township so they 110 rostered players have a place to play softball. “Everyone of the girls in our league is a Bristol Township School District child,” she told the board.
Solicitor David Truelove told Black and league supporters that options for the property are being looked at but no decisions have been made.
Parents of children in the league told the board surveyors were at the property last year. Superintendent Sam Lee said he was not aware of any district-approved surveys.

Board member Jerry Bachman said the board would fight “tooth and nail” for the 56-year-old league.
