According to township officers, on Monday shortly before 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the ShopRite supermarket at 547 South Oxford Valley Road for the report of a retail theft. Two store employees advised police that they had attempted to stop a female customer, later identified as Stringer, from leaving the grocery store with two six-packs of beer valued at nearly $21.

As noted in a probable cause affidavit, Stringer passed the store’s man exit door but was stopped by employees in the vestibule area. It was then that Stringer began to shove the employee in an attempt to get passed here. When the employee attempted the grab the six-packs from Stringer, she reportedly would not let go.

When a third employee intervened and separated the two women, Stringer dropped the beer and fled on foot.
