Conwell-Egan Basketball Champs Honored

The state champion Conwell-Egan Catholic High School boys basketball team were recolonized in Harrisburg on Wednesday.

State Rep. John Galloway (D-140) was joined by State Rep. Tina Davis (D-141), State Rep. Frank Farry (R-142), State Rep. Gene DiGirolamo (R-18) and State Rep. Steve Santarsiero (D-31) all honored the team. The Conwell-Egan Eagles won the PIAA Class AA State Championship title in March, beating out Aliquippa Senior High School 62-51.

Galloway noted during remarks on the house floor that the team was led by coach Frank Sciolla.

“Winning a state championship is a memory they will carry for the rest of their life,” Galloway said.
