
Middletown Township police have taken one man into custody after they say heย entered a stranger’s car and took possession of her credit card.
According to officials, they received a call from a woman in the Highland Park section of Levittown on Wednesday morning. The woman reported that someone,ย between Monday and Tuesdayย evening,ย enteredย her unlocked SUV that was parked in her driveway and stole her wallet. ย According to court documents, the victim’s wallet contained credit cards, debit cards and personal identification.

Through investigation and the victim cancelling debit and credit cards, the woman reported to police that her Discover card had been used 18 times between Monday and Tuesday throughout Penndel Borough, Middletown Township and Philadelphia. According to a probable cause affidavit, the total taken from the card added up to more than $150.
Police advised the victim that one of the charges were made at the 7-Eleven on Lincoln Highway in Penndel. Police were able to obtain surveillance from the location and later identified the perpetrator as 26-year-old James Winn III. He told police while he did once possess the victim’s card, but he no longer had it. It was then that he was taken into custody.
During police interview, Winn admitted to police that he did in fact steal the victim’s wallet and contents from her vehicle- he also admitted to using the victim’s card at various locations, police said in court papers.

Winn was charged with 18 misdemeanor counts of accessing a device without authorized use, two misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property, and single misdemeanor counts of loitering and prowling at nighttime and theft from a motor vehicle. Winn was arraigned and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $30,000. He awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 7.
