A man arrested after investigators claim he downloaded child pornography might be working on a plea deal with prosecutors.
In court this week, public defender Lisa Douple told District Judge Daniel Baranoski that Matthew J. Cullen, 33, of Middletown, was working on a potential deal with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office related to his recent arrest for possessing child pornography. The prosecutor for the attorney general did not comment on the claim.

Cullen’s preliminary hearing was postponed as he was in the process of hiring defense attorney Paul Lang for his case. As of Friday, no reschedule preliminary hearing date was set.
Agents from the attorney general’s office began investigating Cullen in January and discovered he downloaded a file that showed boys between the ages of 7 and 10 performing sex acts with an adult, according to court papers.
Agents from the state and Bensalem police searched the Prospect Avenue home Cullen shared with his mother earlier this month. Inside, they claim they found a file-sharing program with 25 videos and 50 photos of alleged child pornography on a laptop retrieved from Cullen’s room.

Cullen fessed up having one laptop and asked for an attorney when investigators mentioned the second one that contained the child pornography, according to court papers.
“I don’t want my mother to find out. She can’t pay the bills by herself,” he allegedly said. “My life is over.”

Cullen remains in Bucks County prison on 10 percent $200,000 bail.
