A group of protesters marching from New York City to Washington D.C. came through Lower Bucks County Tuesday afternoon.
The protestors, part of the “March 2 Justice,” came across the Calhoun Street Bridge that connects Trenton and Morrisville Borough around 3:30 p.m. By 5 p.m., the marchers were reported to be in Falls Township and headed toward the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown. On Wednesday, the march is expected to start again in Bensalem and continue south.

The march is to address police brutality and racial profiling, both hot topic across the nation in the past year. Justice League NYC is organizing the 250-mile trek.

“We MARCH in solidarity with our elders, our youth, our incarcerated brothers and sisters, and the families and communities of those impacted by police brutality,” Justice League NYC wrote in a statement.
Morrisville police Chief George McClay said the group was respectful on the phone but only alerted his department of their arrival about 30 minutes prior. He noted the group appeared unorganized and did not have permits.
LevittownNow.com readers reported the marchers walking down West Trenton Avenue in Falls.

McClay said he was worried with the marchers walking in rush hour traffic.
