A trial for two men accused of raping a woman in Bristol Borough last year took a strange turn Tuesday when one of the witnesses was taken from the Bucks County Justice Center in handcuffs.
The incident happened during the trial of Kareem Evans, 21, and Qudre McMillan, 19, both of Bristol. The two are accused of raping and robbing the woman inside a Cedar Street home in August 2014.

According to the Doylestown Intelligencer, Kalesha Cruz, the girlfriend of one of the defendants, was taken from a courtroom by sheriff deputies on the orders of Judge Diane Gibbons. The newspaper reported the judge said she should be “charged with perjury for lying to protect her fiance.”
