In total the township plans to pave 139 roads this year, totaling more than 33.3 miles, a project that will cost the township nearly $4.6 million, officials said.
While the township budgeted around $5 million for the project, they had planned a primary and alternate list. Since the bid came in under budget, the township was able to place all the roads on the primary list for contractor James D. Morrissey. Morrissey is a local paving company that has been owned and operated for more than 85 years.
The project will cost the township a total of $4,596,335.55. From 2012 through 2014, the township has paved 296 roads, it hopes to have paved 100.32 miles of township road by the end of 2015.
