Truck Destroyed By Early Morning Fire

A pickup truck was destroyed by a fire early Saturday morning in Bristol Township.

http___makeagif.com__media_2-07-2015_SYh5rAThe fire happened in the 500 block of Stanford Road in the Fairless Hills section. Levittown Fire Company No. 2 Chief Ralph Gumbert said the owner of the truck and his father spotted the blaze a few minutes after the vehicle was parked.

The owner, a Coast Guard serviceman on leave, had just filled the gas tank on the truck, the chief said.

Videographer Ron Roberts’ footage shows burning gasoline running along the side of the road. Gumbert said the flow of burning fuel did cause some complications but was handled by firefighters.

The origin of the fire is not considered suspicious.
