A mother from Wisconsin has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the Middletown-based Pop Warner youthย footballย organization.
WDAZ-TV reports Debra Pyka blames her son’s years of playing the “combat sport” with the league for his suicide at the age of 25.

“The suit said Joseph Chernach played in the league for four years, starting as an 11-year-old, and suffered concussions that were not diagnosed at the time. The suit said he developedย dementiaย pugilistica, also known asย chronic traumatic encephalopathy, andย post-concussion syndrome,” the TV station article said.
“Other parents out there should know what happened to my son and be aware of all the dangers and symptoms,” Debra Pyka told NBC News in an interview. “I don’t want to see this happen to anyone else’s child.”
