The board member stated his opinion on closing Samuel Everitt Elementary School has not changed. He supports a plan on closing the building, with the possibility it will be rented out to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. The board will vote to close Everitt in the coming weeks.
Shubin’s comments came toward the end of a meeting that included some tense moments after board member Mike Morris grilled members and administrators on the approved plan that will move fifth-graders to the middle schools. Morris also asked a slew of questions about the bond issue. Board member Anthony Sposato also passionately spoke of how he was for the consolidation plan that would renovate several buildings, build a new school in Lower Southampton and close Everitt.
