A 37-year-old man who engaged dozens of police officers in a hours-long standoff in December will face trial.

Dwayne Achuff waived charges of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, propulsion of a missile into an occupied vehicle and reckless endangerment before District Judge Jan Vislosky on Tuesday. Bucks County Deputy District Attorney A.J. Garabedian withdrew a charge of aggravated assault during the brief court appearance.

On the evening of  December 20, Achuff  is accused of firing a weapon at a neighbor’s residence and then barricaded himself inside his trailer at 4138 Davis Drive in the Pennwood Crossing complex in Falls Township. When police officers arrived, he reportedly fired what appeared to be a handgun at officers interviewing neighbors who reported the initial shooting, authorities said.

The two officers who were fired on were unhurt but unable to return fire due to the amount of bystanders nearby, police said.
