A Philadelphia man who threatened to blow up Middletown Township’s St. Mary Medical Center and turn it into a “graveyard” was sentenced to jail.
Svyatoslav Burik, 29,was sentenced in mid-December to one day less than one year to one day less than two years in the Bucks County Correctional Facility, assistant district attorney Marc Furber said. He added Burik was also sentenced to 10 years probation and has to follow recommendations made by mental health professionals.

In summer, Burik pleaded guilty to charges filed after the threats came to light in March. Following his August guilty plea before Albert J. Cepparulo, Burik’s bail was revoked and he was sent to prison after the 29 year old posted threats against police on social media.
Here is a sampling of the messages about the hospital allegedly posted on Facebook by Burik in spring: (Obscenities have been edited)
- I wish to make hamburger meat out of all those who hold any minute association with St. Mary’s medical center. How many hale Mary’s? I think I’ve used all mine up.
- A pipe bomb with rosary beads. Metal ones of course. Where’s the Unabomber when you need him. I’ll show em a little home grown.
- Turn that f**king place into a graveyard.
- It’ll be federal, but it’ll be worth it for the screams of anguish and the message conveyed
- Have fun at work Monday, c**ksuckers! Mother Mary gonna have a miscarry
- Who will cover their asses when they’re all burning alive? Who will corroborate their false claims and statements? When shrapnel is sent hurling through their skulls.
- Put a f**king pipe bomb in St. Mary’s c**t. Remember my name!!! RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRTFFFTFT
- When you kiss your cop husband and go to work to St Mary’s medical center, make sure that kiss means something. For there are those waiting for that right moment. Go to work. Do your f**king job. And die.
Police said in court papers they discovered Burik had previously been a patient at St. Mary Medical Center and was violent while there in 2009.

Burik sent a threatening message to a hospital staff member who was there when Burik was treated and knew him from outside the hospital, court paper stated. The message was reported to hospital staff at the time but not police.
The same hospital employee received another message for Burik in 2013. Burik said he hoped the hospital was demolished while the staff member was inside and he hoped people would come after him that night with a “thirst for vengeance,” court papers said. Like the previous message, it was reported to hospital staff but not police.

While he was not charged with threatening police, Burik had made numerous threats against law enforcement before and following his arrest.
The comments against police are spread between posts against the military, animal abuse and other topics over the past few months. Some of the publicly available comments were posted four days before his preliminary hearing.
