A conditional use hearing on the topic of SEPTA parking areas at the Levittown Train Station will be held this coming Tuesday.

Tullytown Borough Council will hold the hearing Tuesday, January 6 at 7 p.m. at the temporary Tullytown Borough Municipal Building at 578 Main Street.

The hearing will cover proposed upgrades and additions to tax parcels. SEPTA plans to add parking availability to the Levittown Train Station, which is set to undergo a nearly $30 million overhaul.

The hearing was pushed from last month’s council meeting because posting of the property was not met in time for the December hearing, Tullytown officials said.

As of early December, SEPTA engineers were continuing to work with the borough on the parking lot and how to make it more efficient.

The 1950s-era station will get new, high-level boarding platforms, improved traffic patterns and entrances off Fallsington Avenue and Route 13 and will also be made fully Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible. Officials from SEPTA have said the station will get about 70 new parking spaces and a pedestrian overpass above the tracks.

The current Levittown station serves about 1,200 commuters daily.
