New Shop In Penndel Hopes To Be ‘Something Different’

A former adult book store on East Lincoln Highway in Penndel has taken on a new life as the Pezo Shop.

Pezo Shop is owned by long time friends Zsolt Makula and Pierre Geib and is offering “something different” to Penndel.

The shop, which is going to open around 11 a.m. every day, will stay open until “at least 8 p.m.,” every evening, however, Makula noted that the night business hours may change depending on the day and the feelings of the owners.

“We don’t want to maintain regular retail hours because are not a regular retail shop,” Makula explained.

“Every time a big day is coming up, you will find the right item,” explained Makula in regards to the fact that the shop will usually hold seasonal items for holidays such as Christmas and Valentines’ Day. “Between seasons, you will find vintage items,” Makula elaborated.

Although the shop has only been open since December 19,  Makula and Geib have already had to replenish the stock of the store once.

Makula is making the character of the store known to customers stopping in, such as Jayne Ivory of Langhorne.

“I love it. It’s adorable. It’s a much greater asset to the area than a porn shop was,” said Ivory. “Zsolt seems to be extremely friendly,” she commented.

The owners of the shop renovated the building, which housed the hold Towne Video adult book shop that occupied the structure for years.

Upon entering the new shop, shoppers are met with an eclectic collection of items including furniture, seasonal items, and vintage goods. One room, away from the main showroom, is equipped with comfy chairs and a coffee machine so that shoppers who are waiting on companions can do so comfortably.

“We try to stage it so it looks like the items are already in your house,” said Makula.

Makula explained that the plans for the shop do not stop inside the store. The duo plans to create a small park with a gardening area on the property so that people can relax and enjoy.

“I think it is a good start, We have an idea of the direction we want to go in,” Makula stated.

“It’s always going to change. Every time you come in, you will likely see a different selection or set up.” explained Makula.

“That’s who we are and welcome to Pezo Shop,” Makula exclaimed.
