SEPTA to Deliver Christmas Gifts for Children

septa_logo_1For the 34th year, SEPTA employees will play the role of Santa and his elves by collecting gifts for children in the Philadelphia area as part of their “Yule Toy” drive, officials said Friday.

Bright red barrels at SEPTA  depots and offices throughout the transportation agencies system will serve as collection points, SEPTA said in a release.

Several SEPTA staff members will serve as Santa’s helpers and sort and package the gifts at SEPTA’s Center City Philadelphia headquarters, also known as the North Pole,  (1234 Market Street) at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2014. The gifts will later be delivered via SEPTA bus to eight local organizations,  said SEPTA spokeswoman Heather Redfern.
