At this month’s Bristol Borough Council agenda meeting, members were urged to vote down the two current bids for the building and installation of the floating docks.
Last week, council members did just that with a unanimous vote to reject the two bids which cameย in about $450,000 over budget for the estimated 2 million price tag, officials said.

Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe said he planned to vote down the bids and urged council members to do the same.
Despite the delays, the project was originally set to break ground during the spring of 2014 .
The plan after officially rejecting the two bids at Monday’s council meeting is to go out for rebidding,officials said.

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick helped secure the initial federal funding for the waterfront project from theย United States Fish and Wildlife Service. He told LevittownNow.com last week he is working with officials at levels of government to get funding for the project.
โThe Bristol dock project is critical to area residents and the local economy. I will continue working with all stakeholders โ local, state and federal โ to ensure this project is fully funded and completed in a timely manner,โ Fitzpatrick said.

Officials have called the project an “anchor to the future” of the historic riverside town. The project is seen by many as a pathway to boost to the local economy.
