Several LevittownNow.com readers reached out about seeing a bright fireball shooting through the sky between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. The American Meteor Society said they received over 100 reports from people in Maryland, Virginia Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan and Canada on Wednesday evening.
“Many witnesses described an increasing intensity before it terminated, a common trait of bolide meteors,” a report on the American Meteor Society website read.
The group reported the fireball was likely over upstate New York.
