Although Santa arrived a little late Friday night, that did not stop the children at the tree lighting ceremony from making sure they were heard. What sounded like hundreds of voices cut through the bitter cold Friday night.
From one end of Mill Street to the juncture of Mill Street and Radcliffe Street’, crowds swarmed the borough to see the man in red.
Streets, sidewalks and merchants were jammed for the festivities as the heart of the merchant district was turned into a veritable “winter wonderland.”

Reindeer, train rides, a line of kids getting their pictures with Santa snaked through Bristol Lions park during the event.
Bristol Economic Advisory Committee Chairman Bill Pezza described Friday night as a big success and stated he was thankful to the 40 or so volunteers from Raising the Bar.

“So many people worked and volunteered so hard to make this a great night for Bristol. Next year, we’ll iron it out and a do it better,” he said.
“If you like what we’re doing, please consider making a modest donation. Donations (Checks only please) can be sent to Raising the Bar, PO Box 2126 Bristol PA 19007. There is also one week left to order a brick at Mill Street Crossing. Message me for an order form. Remember, if you cannot help financially, your time spent volunteering is equally important,” Pezza wrote on The Raising the Bar social media page.
