Pennsbury Manor Celebrates Holly Nights

William Penn’s 17-century plantation Pennsbury Manor,ย ย is gearing up for their annual Holly Nights Celebration on December 4 and 5. The community tradition which has been around the past 40 years will start at 6 and end at 9 p.m. both nights.

The event, which will be illuminated by hundreds of candles, is a way for the community to kick off the holiday season by participating in fun, family-friendly activities.

A yule log bonfire, as well as music by a variety of musical and vocal ensembles will add to the festive flavor, according to a recent press release. Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, blacksmithing, joinery and beer brewing as well as a candletlit tour of the Manor House will help bring the feeling of a past time to the present holiday season.

This year’s Holly Nights Celebration will mark the 75th anniversary of Pennsbury Manor and the historical site will celebrate with fireworks on December 4.

Admission for the event is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $6 for children and free for children under age three. Free parking and holt-mulled cider re included with admission.
