Bristol Township Council at Thursday’s Council meeting welcomed Cody Stoner as a full-time Fire Inspector/Firefighter. Stoner, who began his employment with Bristol Township on November 10, filled the spot after a fire inspector resigned earlier this year.

Under the supervision of Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito, Stoner will conduct fire inspections in the E dgely/Levittown section of the Township which includes the Edgely Industrial Park, Riverside Industrial Park, Bristol Industrial Park, and Route 13 from the Tullytown line to Green Lane. Stoner will also assist the Edgely Fire Company on emergency response calls .
Stoner, who was one of 15 candidates to apply for the position, has seven years experience in volunteer fire service, and held the rank of firefighter, driver, EMT, trustee, and lieutenant. Prior to coming to Bristol Township, Cody also worked as a part-time firefighter in Northampton Township and as an EMT for Grandview Hospital in Sellersville.
With the hiring of Stoner, the Fire Marshal’s Office is staffed by a full-time Fire Marshal, five Fire Inspectors/Firefighters, and one Fire Inspector. The Fire Marshal’s office is responsible not only for investigating the causes of fire incidents, but also conducting annual fire safety inspections of commercial, industrial buildings, schools and non-profit organizations. The F ire Inspectors also perform fire safety inspections of apartments as well as respond to fires and other emergencies.
