Bristol Borough police officials said they have gone from being “reactive to proactive” in recent weeks as more narcotics related arrests are being made.
One of the recent arrests brings to mind a song from metal band Anthrax. “Wake up dead in a plywood bed six feet from the rest of your life…” In this case the plywood bed was a vehicle whereย ย Dylan Tregea, 46, of Bristol, sat, while passed out in a Mill Street parking lot.

Waking up dead might have been preferable in this instance as he was found out cold with crack and heroine paraphernalia allegedly in his possession.
Tregea passed out cold in the lot at the wrong time as a “proactive narcotics detail” has been more than active and noticeable the borough.
Authorities shined the light of justice ย on Tregea behind the 300 block of Mill Street on October 10, according to court records.

Authorities approached his dark colored 2001 Nissan as he was fully reclined and out cold, police said.
An officer first shined his flashlight into the vehicle and woke Tregea up out of his alleged drug induced stupor, court papers say. Police said they noticed drug paraphernalia used to smoke crack in plain view.

Authorities interviewed the Bristol man who admitted to having the two syringes in his possession for injecting heroin.
Tregea was charged via mail summons for misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on December 17.
Bristol officers with the help of supporting officers from Bensalem, Bristol Township, Falls, state police and Tullytownย have, in their own way, announced ย a show of force of sorts in recent weeks.

The officer involved with the detail was part of the Bucks County Special Narcotics Task Force, court documents noted.
It is the third arrestย of recent note – there have many others in the past – involving the two agencies teaming up in the borough for the purpose of stopping the flow of drugs and its traffickingl.

Another ย case involving work by the task force was recently continued in Bristol Borough District Court in October. Latina Sewell was arrested for allegedly distributing cocaine in Bristol.
That case was continued with the accused, Sewell, sent back to Bucks County jail for the alleged borough drug deal she was is accused of, according to court documents. Sewell was charged with felony conspiracy to distribute cocaine, ย two other related alleged drug dealing charges in which an undercover officer was employed to purchase drugs from Sewell and a co-defendant Oscar Griffths.

Griffth’s has a long arrest and conviction record in Bucks County dating back to 1987. In February, he pleaded guilty to felony distribution charges and related offenses as connected to the case involving Swell- who is scheduled to be in court on December 10.
The police department has been working with other law enforcement agencies at both the county and federal levels to combat the drug issue that’s come into focus. The push comes even as manpower issues have plagued the department. Borough residents sickened by the recent rash of robberies and alleged drug dealing say they have come together to form a town watch. They watch is planned be the “eyes and ears” of the community.
