Morrisville Fire Company Chief  Matt Wiedenhaefer confirmed the reports of a body in the river were “unfounded.”

Police and fire crews searched the Delaware River between Falls Township and Yardley Friday after there was a report of a possible body in the water.

Crews from Bucks County and New Jersey were dispatched late Friday morning to the river. A search helicopter was called around noon and did not find anything as of 1 p.m., according to an official.

Tess Annemarie Ross posted on LevittownNow.com’s Facebook page that police and firefighters were positioned in the area of Ferry and River roads, which is near the Lower Makefield and Morrisville border.

Firefighters were released from the scene shortly before 1 p.m.
