Exactly two weeks before Thanksgiving, snow was falling across the area Thursday night.

While the storm that brought rain that changed to frozen precipitation to the area didn’t leave much in the way of accumulation, it did give the local residents their first bite of winter.

The snow did stick to grassy surfaces and was spotted on the sides of some roadways in the area of Core Creek Park in Middletown.
By Friday morning, much of the accumulation was already gone and some remained on cars on grassy areas.
Here’s the National Weather Service forecast for the weekend:
- Friday: Sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
- Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 27. Northwest wind around 6 mph.
- Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 44. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Light west wind.
- Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
- Sunday Night: A slight chance of rain before 1am, then rain and snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
