Tom Wolf Plans To Turn Down Governor’s Salary

Governor-elect Tom Wolf says he won’t take the roughly $187,000 salary for the job.

Wolf, a wealthy York County businessman, he plans to “either return the salary to the state or give it to charity, depending on what the law allows,” according to an article from the York Dispatch.

“Wolf, who ran his family-owned cabinet manufacturing business The Wolf Organization, refused a salary during the 19 months he served as Revenue secretary in Gov. Ed Rendell’s administration,” an article from Trib Total Media in Pittsburgh states.

The newly-elected Wolf said he was working to plan his new government and cabinet, according to Philly.com.

According to the Council of State Governments, Pennsylvania offers the highest salary for its governors. The council notes Gov. Tom Corbett has turned down thousands in cost of living adjustments.
