Turnout for the General Election on Tuesday was reported by many poll workers to be “steady.”

A random sampling of Levittown-area polling sites indicated a roughly 30 percent turnout by 7 p.m.

Reports of small lines at polling places throughout the area were heard around dinner time.

LevittownNow.com reporters had trouble at several polling stations when multiple judges of elections said they were not allowed to talk to the media. Some judges of election that did comment did not want their names published. A county spokesman said he is looking into the issue.

Bristol Borough
Election officials in Bristol Borough reported no major problems in the town’s district. They said Tuesday was a “low voting day.”

Bristol Township
Voter turnout throughout the township was reported to be “steady”,” according to several poll workers.
A Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School, turnout for the election was modest, one poll worker said.

At the Benjamin Franklin School, a judge of elections at one precinct said that 181 out of 812 registered voters had cast their ballot as of 5:15 p.m.

Langhorne
Turnout at the borough’s lone polling place was reported 40 percent at 5:45 p.m. A steady line of voters came in and out from the library where the voting machines sit. Inside, a woman carrying a small dog cast her ballot and joked with clerks.

Middletown
Election day started busy at Maple Point Middle School in Middletown. While Democratic congressional candidate Kevin Strouse voted, people walked in and out of the cafeteria.
At noon, there was a trickle of voters coming in and out of Samuel Everitt Elementary School in Middletown. Even as Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick voted, only one or two other people came to cast their ballot.

The twoย precincts at Neshaminy High School had short lines by 6 p.m. Voters streamed in and out of the buildings as people outside distributed campaign literature. An election official said “turnout is better than I expected.”
Penndel

“We are projected to do between 450 and 475 by the end of the night,” an election official in Penndel said. “These numbers are fantastic for the borough.”
Tullytown
At about 5 p.m., about 430 people had voted at the borough’s lone polling place.
