Ex boyfriends sometimes don’t get the message clearly. ย Such is this case of a Bristol man who not only didn’t get the message but allegedly decided to help himself to his former girlfriend’s possessions.

Bristol Borough police responded to a theft call a little after 1 a.m. on October 21 on the 300 told block of Otter Street.

When cops arrived on scene, the victim told them she was upstairs in her bedroom when she ย heard a noise coming from downstairs, according to court documents.

The woman living in the home told police she had told her ex-boyfriend several times he was no longer welcomed at her home, however, John Ault, 36 of Bristol, apparently did not get the message since she found him in her standing in the doorway.

The woman told police she and neighbors that she had warned Ault to stay away from her and her home. Apparently, the Bristol man did not get that message, police said.
