Cops: Enraged Man Hits Salvation Army Employee With TV, Runs Motorcyclist Off Road


A Morrisville man is accused of assaulting two people in a matter of hours on Saturday.

The first time police had contact with Edward Polski Jr., 72, was Saturday afternoon when he allegedly put up a scene at the the Salvation Army store on Lincoln Highway.

Police said the 72 year old became enraged when an employee turned away the two TVs he was trying to donate and told Polski they no longer accept those models.

“If you don’t want them, you can throw them away,” the employee reportedly told Polski.

Polski then pulled the TVs out of his vehicle and threw them on the ground, police said. They added that a Salvation Army employee was struck in the leg by one.

Polski fled in his vehicle and allegedly ran a motorcyclist off the road in the area of West Lincoln Highway and West Trenton Avenue several hours later.

Court papers say the motorcyclist had to swerve to avoid an crash with Polski’s SUV. The documents also note the motorcyclist told officers he had to jump off the motorycyle to avoid a crash. The motorcycle feel to the ground and was damaged.

The motorcyclist told police the license plate number of the SUV that allegedly ran him off the road. Police linked the vehicle to Polsky, according to court papers.

Polski was arrested and arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and reckless driving in connection with the motorcycle incident. He was released on 10 percent of $10,000 bail.

Police said a in press release they plan to charge Polski with simple assault, disorderly conduct, scattering rubbish and careless driving in connection with the Salvation Army incident.
