On October 16 at 12:06 p.m., the Penndel Borough Police Department responded to a call at an apartment along Crescent Street for a domestic dispute in progress.

Upon arrival, police met with a victim who reported she was engaged in an argument with 37-year-old, Lawrence William Wood. The victim alleged to police that Wood had struck her once with an open hand to the right side ofย her face. According to police, the victim did show redness where she claimed to be hit. Following the incident, both the victim and police asked Wood to leave the residence, to which he complied, according to court records.

At 1:24 p.m., just a short while after, Penndel Borough police again responded to the same residence for another domestic dispute in progress. According to police, the common door to the apartment building was secure. Police contacted Bucks County Radio in which they requested that the victim unlock the common door to the apartment, court papers say.

As stated in the affidavit of probable cause, the victim stated to police that Wood had once again arrived at the apartment and requested to be let in, when the victim refused, Wood began to bang and punch the door, causing it to break, at which point Wood gained access to the apartment.

Court records show that policeย noted overhearing a man yelling, at which point after forcing the door open, they discovered Wood in the bathroom of the apartment. Wood was immediately taken into custody by Penndel police.
