The northbound and southbound right lanes will be closed this upcoming work week on Route 1 between South Bellevue Avenue and I-95 in Middletown.
Those that travel the roadways should expect delays Monday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to a p.m. for the installation of an overhead sign structure. PennDOT has announced there will also be intermittent 15-minute traffic stoppages and a decrease in speed from 55 mph to 40 mph within the direct construction zone.

The installation is one of the final items of work on the 15.8 million project to help improve traveling on Route 1. This includes replacing the three-span, pre-stressed box beam bridge over Route 213 with a new single-span, pre-stressed concrete beam structure.
Crews have also rebuilt and realigned Route 1 ramps to Route 213; resurfaced the roadway approaches and ramps; and installed glare screens on the median barrier, pavement markers and guide rail and drainage systems.
