Langhorne-native James Franklin was back in Bucks County to take in high school football Friday night.
Franklin, who graduated from Neshaminy High School is 1990, first stopped at the Archbishop Wood vs. Bonner-Prendergast game in Delaware County. Then, Franklin stopped in at the Central Bucks West vs. Council Rock North game in Newtown.

Franklin flew into Bucks County in a helicopter chartered by Penn State.
Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Matt Breen tweeted that Franklin was scouting Council Rock North quarterback Brandon McIlwain.
Franklin’s use of a helicopter to fly to different high school games has drawn some attention recently.

“Basically, we find the best option in those areas from a cost perspective, from a safety perspective,” Franklin told PennLive.com. “The main part is efficiency. You’re in cities where you try and see half of the first game, half of another game. If you get stuck in traffic and the kid is expecting you, that’s a problem.”
Franklin was named coach of Penn State’s football program earlier this year.
