State police are seeking the public’s help as they investigate a deadly wreck on I-95 in Bensalem late Monday night.
According to a press release, Lisa DiMaio, 44, of Turnersville, N.J. lost control of her 2003 Jeep Liberty after a black sedan pulled in front of her and slammed on its brakes. In turn, DiMaio hit her brakes and swerved before slamming into a guardrail and overturning several times around 3:45 p.m. Monday, state police said.

Authorities said the late 1990s or early 2000s model sedan that slammed on its brakes drove off on southbound I-95.
DiMaio’s Jeep overturned four to five times before coming to rest in the grassy median near the Woodhaven Road exit, state police said.
Firefighters and medics from Bensalem rushed to the scene and freed the woman. She was transported to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus and succumbed to her injuries a short time later, state police said.

A witness, who stopped to help the woman, said state police troopers found a cell phone belonging to DiMaio a short distance from her wrecked vehicle. On the other end, her husband who was reportedly talking to her when the crash happened.
Volunteer Bristol Township firefighter Tom Stanton stopped and ran to assist the seriously injured woman after he say the wreck.

“I couldn’t believe it. The whole thing happened right in front of me,” he recalled Monday evening.
