Last week, charges against the 23 year old were held over in Bristol Borough District Court by Judge Frank W. Peranteau, Sr in a brief preliminary hearing on Wednesday
Bickel, according to testimony by Bristol officer Thomas Polistina, was observed by the attentive officer in the area of First and New York avenues on July 4.
Polistina said in court filed documents that he recognized Bickel and stopped him because he believed the Bensalem man had a felony warrant on file for his arrest, which he was able to confirm later.

Bickel told the officer that his name wasn’t Adam, but Roger Bickel, court documents say. At which time, Polistina advised the wanted suspect that he could be further charged if he continued to lie to the officer.
Bickel persisted, according to court room testimony, and again denied being Adam Bickel. The officer detained the man and Bickel told the officer that he had two hypodermic needles in his pocket, which he admitted were used for injecting heroin.

The officer cuffed Bickel and detained him in an effort to confirm his identity, court documents say.
Polistina said in court documents he did not believe Bickel’s claims about being Roger Bickel and planned to take him in on a felony warrant for escape charges when he noticed the initials “AB” tattooed on the mans wrist.
Bickel finally gave up as he realized the pickle he was now in. Bickle admitted to knowing about the warrant as the officer placed him in to the police cruiser, court documents say. The 23 year-old , however, with the lengthy arrest record wasn’t finished as of yet.

Bickle, according to Polistina, was getting into the cruiser when he then kicked out the door of the vehicle and charged the officer with his shoulders first. He managed to knock the officer backwards briefly as he ran away. Bickel was caught quickly thereafter and still put up a fight as he kicked and struggled before the officer regained full control of the suspect, court documents show.
Charges of felony escape, resisting arrest, false identification to law enforcement, intent to posses a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were held by Perenteau. Bickel was returned to Bucks County Jail, where he’s been since July on 10 percent of $30,000 ย He is scheduled for trial in Doylestown on Halloween.
