The work is part of a project that replaced the three-span, pre-stressed box beam bridge over Maple Avenue. The reconstruction project has realign the Route 1 ramps to Maple Avenue, resurfaced the roadway approaches and ramps, installed glare screens on the median barrier and upgrade drainage systems. The over cost is nearly $16 million.

The bulk of the project is completed and PennDOT officials said they expect the entire project to be completed this fall.
