A 46-year-old man who was living in the woods was arrested and charged with taking a car in Falls Township.

Robert Charles Pope is accused of taking his friend’s 1992 Mercury Sable from his Falls Township home.

Police said the incident happened Sunday after Pope’s friend told him he was too intoxicated to drive him back to the wooded area where the 46 year old was staying.
Pope drove off with the Sable after his friend fell asleep, according to court papers.
Investigators found Pope in a tent in a wooded area off Levittown Parkway, police said. Court papers say Pope still had the vehicle’s keys on him and hee was able to provide the location of the Sable.

Pope was charged with theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was arraigned and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
