3 Hurt in Early Morning I-95 Crash


Emergency responders rushed to a one-vehicle accident on northbound I-95 in Middletown Township Sunday morning.

A 2011 Toyota Camry driven by a 26-year-old Trenton man lost control on a bend in the highway around 5:15 a.m. and ended up on its roof near an embankment, state police said.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said the driver was able to get out of the vehicle and another passenger was laying on the road. A third passenger was trapped in the back of the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.

The two passengers, both of Trenton, and the driver were taken to St. Mary Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries, state police said.

Farry said firefighters used airbags to lift they vehicle so they could cut away a portion so the one passenger could be freed.

The two passengers were not wearing seatbelts but the driver was, state police said.

State police said they plan to charge the driver with a traffic related offense.
