The noise stemmed from the security screen and window 26-year-old Penndel resident Steven Sterner allegedly kicked out while being transported by the deputies.

According to court papers, the deputies looked back to find Sterner lying on his back with his feet up toward where the window once was.

The deputies resumed their travels with Sterner and another prisoner after pulling over telling him to stop, according to court papers.

At one point in the trip, deputies heard a loud noise and a second window and discovered a security screen and window were broken, court papers say.

Once at the prison in Doylestown, Sterner caused a scene and claimed he did not have an active bench warrant out for him, the deputies wrote in court papers. The 26 year old also said the sheriff’s department law enforcement officials used “deadly force” and false imprisonment in order to transport him to the jail, court papers say.

The sheriff’s department filed several counts of institutional vandalism and attempted escape against Sterner last week. District Judge Daniel Baranoski arraigned Sterner and sent him to Bucks County lockup on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.

Sterner was also arraigned last week on charges of harassment and disorderly conduct out of Penndel. Court papers in that case said Sterner threatened a man and said he hoped the man’s wife gets “kidnapped and gang raped.” Police noted in court papers there have been other reporters of Sterner making threats.
