The Bristol Borough School recently voted to hire Dr. Broadus Davis in order to “provide certified educational services for the Trilight Alternative Education Program” at the school district.

Davis was hired on a one year contract for $65,000, according to the official meeting agenda.

“The board is extremely pleased and proud to be able to offer the Twilight Program without having to raise taxes,” said Board President Charles Groff.
The program brings back 12 students who previously were sent out of the district for disciplinary problems, said Groff.
According to Chris McHugh, the school district business manager, the move will actually save the district $41,000 in total, due to the cost that the district incurred in sending the students out of district.

According to Groff, the program will allow students in the program to graduate in time, while not having any interaction at all with students of the regular school population.
Dr. Broadus Davis served as superintendent of the Bristol Borough School District for a number of years before retiring. Davis is returning to teach the Twilight Program.
