A two-year-old boy is credited with helping solve a burglary.
Bristol police responded to a burglary on the 1000 block of Jefferson Street on July 26 after receiving a call.

When patrolman Ritchie Webb arrived on the scene, the boy’s mother told the patrolman she had found the window to her apartment had been removed and her 2002 Blue Chevy Caviler was stolen, court documents say. The victim’s friend who was also in the apartment at the time told police her cell phone was also missing, according to court records.
The friend also related to police that her two-year-old son told her that he saw Da’Ron Derry, 28, of Bristol, come through the bedroom window where he was sleeping, the probable cause affidavit says.

Webb met with Derry for an interview at police headquarters in late August. Derry, when confronted about the incident, admitted to the burglary, theft of the vehicle and theft of a cell phone, according to court papers.

Derry faces charges of burglary, theft, and two additional related offenses. The suspect is scheduled to appear in Bristol Borough District Court on October 8.
