Here are today’s Letters to the Editors…

One of the most famous and in this case ironic jokes is, “I’m from the IRS and I’m here to help you.”

I bring this up because state Senate candidate Steve Cickay wants us to believe that he, a lifelong IRS employee, will make our lives better. The truth is Cickay has already taken positions on issues which would leave working families in Bucks County with less, while ensuring the government gets more. Not much of a surprise from a man who spent his ENTIRE professional career with the IRS.

Cickay called a recent plan to raise state income taxes on households making $90,000 or more a year, “fair” and “responsible.” So when a husband and wife each make over $45,000 a year, Cickay thinks they should pay more in taxes instead of saving for their children’s college education. After years of taking money from people at the IRS, Cickay must not realize that $90,000 isn’t “rich” when raising a family — especially here in Bucks County.

So remember: when Steve Cickay says he’ll help you in the state Senate, you can’t believe it anymore than if he knocked on your door and said, “I’m from the IRS and I’m here to help you.”
