Bristol Borough Council in mid-July approved the redevelopment of the Stocks Cafe site at the base of Mill Street.

JVS Properties of Moorestown, N.J. will lead the project, which will demolish the building currently at the site and construct a similar looking structure on the same land. The current building is in bad shape and taking down the building currently at the site appears to be the only viable option, officials have said.

The building plans will feature an eatery with a bar and patio that faces the Delaware River. The building would feature five condos and five townhomes, which a sign posted at the site describes at “luxury.”

The sign says the building’s residential units will be priced between $400,000 and $500,000.

Officials have said demolition of the Stocks building will likely start in the fall.

Over the past two years, Bristol has worked to revive Mill Street as a shopping destination. New shops have opening and a boat dock will soon be built at the end of Mill Street. Money from a facade grant is also being used to spruce up buildings in the business district.
